Obituary for Alex Torres Jr.
Alex Torres Jr. was born August 25, 1954 to Alex and Emma. He went home to be with His Lord and Savior on August 24, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Torres, his daughters Tiara Torres of Lafayette, Colorado, Tarissa Navas (Marvin) of Burlingame, California and Antoinette Torres of Pacifica, California. Surviving sons include Alex Joseph and Jimmy Audette. He has 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Alex Torres and wife, Carol; sisters JoAnne Thaw (Jack) from Newton, Kansas and Janet Hansen (Julian) from Frederick, Colorado as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Romero.
Alex attended Lafayette schools through 5th grade and then he moved to San Bruno, California with his mother. He attended Junior High in San Bruno and graduated from Crestmoor High School and attended Skyline Community College. He returned to Colorado after his mother's death in 1977 and has lived in Lafayette since that time.
He was a talented man and could do almost any kind of remodeling a person needed. He put in sprinkling systems, redid kitchens, put on additions to houses and even built houses from the bottom up with his dad, Alex. They worked together on numerous projects and at one time had their own small business. He was certainly his dad's pride and joy and it made his dad happy to have his son work along side of him.
Alex loved to party, have fun and had friends from all walks of life. He was fun loving and was always charismatic. He was a loyal friend, a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and cousin. He also liked to play pool and just hang out. Anyone who knew Alex, liked him. He loved his family and enjoyed having them around.
He had a terminal illness and the best part of it was that he didn't have to suffer too long. He was able to see most of his children and grandchildren before he died at an early birthday celebration just four days before his death. He was diagnosed with cancer in June and two months later passed on to eternal rest. We will mourn our dear Alex, but know that he is in a better place now. May he rest in peace.
