Obituary for Betty B. Ziesenis
Betty Bailey Ziesenis was born on February 8, 1945, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Dr. John Bailey and Mrs. Bernice Bailey. After a brave 9-year struggle, Betty lost her battle to thyroid cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and daughters when she passed away at her home in Thornton, Colorado, on April 21, 2014. Betty’s love for books and learning led her to a career as a librarian as well as charity work with adult literacy. She instilled a passion for reading in her daughters, Sarah and Beth Ziesenis, as well as her treasured grandsons, Jamison and Ashton. Betty's two sisters, Kathy Pyle and Sarah Cormier, both live in Louisiana, as do many of Betty's nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, Scott Ziesenis, is left with memories of their shared love of nature and the outdoors, which led the couple on birdwatching and hiking adventures from the Appalachian Mountains to the Mississippi River to the California Coast. Celebration of Betty’s life: 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at DeWitt & Tabler Funeral Home 12114 Grant Circle Thornton Colorado 80241. This chorus by Darryl Purpose was inspired by the Carousel of Happiness in Nederland where it hangs on the wall. If I should go bye in the blink of an eye, Don't worry for me where I'm bound. Beginning and endings are only pretendings, I'll see you next time around. Memorial Donations: The family has established a page for donations to the Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, an organization that provided knowledge, advice and support throughout Betty’s struggle with cancer. www.gofundme.com/BettyB (Please copy and paste the gofundme.com link to a new browser window in order to donate.)
