Obituary for Calvin 'CJ' St. John Striggles
Sunrise August 28th, 1971 Sunset May 9th, 2015 Calvin, “CJ” St. John Striggles was born On August 28th, 1971 to proud parents Calvin and Arrie L. Striggles in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved to Washington D.C when Calvin was seven years old. There he graduated from Fairmont High School with honors at the age of seventeen. He attended Maryland University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business. At the time of his passing Calvin was working towards his Masters in Business Accounting. In 2000, Calvin moved to Denver as an employee with Kaiser Permanente. He was a dedicated and loyal member of the management team for seventeen years. Calvin met his partner, Ahmad Nelson, in 2002 and following a thirteen year relationship; he married the love of his life and became husband to Ahmad on April 26th, 2015. Calvin passed away peacefully in his home on May 9th 2015, his loving husband and mother was by his side until the end. Throughout his difficult journey to conquer cancer, Calvin was a pillar of strength to all his family and friends. Calvin is survived by his husband, Ahmad Nelson, his parents Calvin and Arrie Striggles, Brother James Striggles, and sister Latanya Striggles. He was also an uncle to four nieces Ariel, Asia, Destini, and Sandra and a nephew David. Not only was he a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle; He was also a cherished nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Calvin- you loved and are loved by many! We will place you in our hearts, where you shall remain forever!! We thank God for the time he gave us to be with you. A celebration of Calvin’s life will be held on Saturday May 16th at 11’Oclock in the morning at; Dewitt and Tabler Funeral Home 12114 Grant Circle Thornton, Colorado 80241 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Calvin’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
