Obituary for Carlotta Anne Reynolds
Carlotta Anne Mayo was born in Denver Colorado on June 28, 1946 to William and Dorathea Mayo. She grew up with her sister Yvonne in the Whittier neighborhood in Northeast Denver and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1964. She attended the University of Colorado for a couple of years before deciding to move to San Francisco and experience life on her own. Upon her return to Colorado in 1969 she was at a party where she met Quentin Reynolds. They were married in 1971 and from this marriage became a mother to two children, Kiersten and Joshua.  Carlotta’s family was extremely important to her which made her an influential aunt to three: Audrey, Adam and Chelsea. A wonderful grandmother to five, Kierra, Michael, Makenna, Shiera and Carter.  And a dedicated  great aunt to six, D’Angela, Celena, Dominick, Alex, Tyler and Jordan, and they all affectionately called her Kaijah.

Carlotta LOVED music and LOVED to dance! She was a HUGE fan of Johnny Mathis, the Beatles, Fred Astaire, Michael Jackson and West Side Story just to name a few, but really her musical taste extended across all genres. Her passion for the arts was passed on to not only her children, but everyone that she encountered. Her love of dance included ballet and tap, which she later spent countless hours coaching her daughter. She may not have been the best dancer, but she sure knew how to get down! Her love for the theatre/music/dancing was also shared with the entire younger generation of her family which many of them are still involved in today. Mom had a love for Coca-Cola, CHOCOLATE, the Whopper (no onion, HEAVY pickle) and Star Trek. Her bright personality, sense of humor and contagious smile was infectious and radiated her love for her family and for life.  She had a giving spirit, brilliant mind and beautiful heart and made herself available to everyone that surrounded her.  She loved deeply and expressed it constantly, even when life’s challenges made it hard to do so.  Carlotta was a great friend and her commitment to those relationships was truly genuine.  You could always count on her to be there when you needed her.

With all of the things that she loved and dedicated her life to, above ALL she loved the Lord.  She was strong in the word and studied the Bible extensively. Her commitment to God never waivered and she made sure to share the Gospel with her family and friends to lay a foundation that they could thrive from.  She had a spirit of worship and was a prayer warrior interceding for others.  We believe that she was a vessel that was pleasing to God in her dedication to serve others. Even when Alzheimer's, the greatest challenge of her life appeared, she fought it with amazing strength, compassion and grace staying positive and faithful all the way until the moment that she was called home.

She will truly be missed, but ALWAYS be loved and remembered.
