Obituary for Charlene B Twinem
Charlene B. Twinem, 95, Westminster, was graduated to heaven Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Charlene was born May 27, 1921, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Oscar and Grace Beverage. She attended Draughon School of Business and worked in Washington, D.C. on the Advisory Commission to the Council of National Defense. Charlene met and married J. Robert Twinem in 1943. She was proud of her PHT (putting hubby through) degree that she received when Bob received his MD (medical degree). They enjoyed 64 years together.
In Lincoln, NE, Charlene cheered her husband’s beloved Huskers –but never letting him forget she was an “okie from Muskogee.” She worked side by side as office manager in Bob’s medical practice. She loved to bake and was known for her cinnamon rolls which she shared freely.
Charlene’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She was active in numerous Friendship Bible Coffees, leading Bible Study Fellowship groups, mentoring many women and was a constant example of her love for Jesus. Charlene took immense joy in their 5 children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by daughter Jane Schmidt of Thornton, CO; daughter Robin (Gordon) Hahn of Saco, MT; daughter Neecy Twinem of Sandia Park, NM; son William (Dena) Twinem of Thornton, CO; and daughter-in-law Sue Twinem of Lenexa, KS; 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 siblings, 1 son, 1 son-in-law, and 1 granddaughter,
Charlene is deeply missed by her family, many caring friends and others whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Charlene’s life will be held at Dewitt and Tabler Mortuary; Thornton, CO, at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2016. Graveside service and interment will be at North Platte Cemetery on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
