Obituary for Christine Wind
Mother to Natalie Wind Grandmother to Nathaniel Wind Sister to Karin Saurage Bob, Paula Saurage-Ruiz, Alvin J. Saurage III, And Archie David Saurage Aunt to Jilian Saurage Felton, Melissa Davis and Valerie Ruiz Niece to Gerald Saurage Cousin to many and friend to even more. Christine entered this life on August 31, 1947 in Dubuque Iowa to her mother Marilyn and father Alvin 'Bub' Saurage Jr. She grew up in New Orleans where she attended Wilson grade school, Mc Main Jr. High and Riverdale High School. She was an adventurous person who moved to Chicago in her early 20's as a Playboy Bunny where she met David Wind whom she later married then divorced. She soon left the bunny life behind to enter the business world where she excelled in her sales career. She fell in love with Jay Andre and they had a beautiful daughter, Natalie Wind, whom she cherished and protected since her birth on February 25, 1970. She married David Stein who, although later divorced, remained a lifelong friend. Christine's adventures took her from Chicago to California to Las Vegas, to Israel and finally to Denver where she and Natalie resided since 1986. Christine met and married Jerry Armstrong in Denver and they later divorced in 2007. Christine was honored to be stepmother to Jeremiah and Jessie. The Light of her Eyes was her grandson, Nathaniel, who came into her life on January 29, 2002 and from that moment on Christine was forever in love and showered him with her enormous capacity to love. Her laugh and wit will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was an enigma to many but simple to understand if you knew the key. She was authentic, honest and fearless, loving and generous and perplexed by those who were not. Christine was loyal to a fault and we will all miss that laugh, that look, that wit, that love, THAT CHRISTINE!
