Obituary for Chuck Stanford
Charles “Chuck” George Stanford, Jr. passed away at his home in Thornton, Colorado on October 8, 2014, at the age of 52. Chuck is lovingly remembered by his parents, Charlie and Shirley Stanford of Thornton, Colorado; sister, Lisa Stanford (Cahl Rasmussen) of Tomball, Texas; brother, Michael Stanford (Melissa Stanford) of Thornton, Colorado; niece, Lauren Stanford of Palisade, Colorado and nephew, Nicholas Stanford of Louisville, Colorado. Chuck was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on December 29, 1961. He has been an active client of North Metro Community Services for over 35 years. Chuck enjoyed life. He enjoyed interaction with his peers attending parties, dances, bowling, swimming and many other outings. He loved music and playing his radio. He loved his keys and always had a set or two in his hand. Maybe now he will be joined up with all the many sets of keys he has lost over the years. He loved going anyplace in the car and always looked forward to the ride in the van going to and from day program. You could find him many times with his telephone in hand, the phone book open with a pen. Who knows what he was ordering, perhaps pizza. He enjoyed watching movies and going out to eat with his housemates. He always enjoyed being with his family. The Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held at Highline Circle of Life Center, 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, Colorado on November 1, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Paul Sheppard and the entire North Metro Community Services staff, Christine Payne & family, and the many other friends and family who have touched Chuck’s life. Song of Solomon 8:6-7 Place me like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Colorado Easter Seals Camp. The website is www.easterseals.com/our-programs/camping-recreation/
