Obituary for Clay Michael DeHart

Clay DeHart, 53

Clay DeHart, 53, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on August 28,2016, at his home.

Clay was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a process engineer at National Renewal Energy Laboratory working in photovoltaics for more than 15 years. He was a knowledgeable and hard worker who enjoyed finding more efficient ways to do things. He has been recognized for his work and given accolades from those he coached in the study of photovoltaics, along with writing several publications and being awarded patents in the field of photovoltaics.

He enjoyed working on electronics, teaching others the details of electronics. He also enjoyed metal detecting, camping, and visiting with neighbors and friends. He looked out for people, especially those he loved. He made sure everyone was safe and prepared for whatever may come their way. He was a kind and giving man.

Clay is survived by his wife, Joanne DeHart; his two children, David Rohr and his wife Emily, and Brandon DeHart; his two brothers, Marty DeHart and Kirk DeHart; his nephew Michael DeHart; his nieces Marrisa DeHart and Kayla DeHart; and many cousins.

Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Herman DeHart and Ruth Ann DeHart as well as his sister, Chris Scott.

The memorial service will be held on September 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home. Father Jerry Rohr of St. Rose of Lima Church, Denver, Colorado, will be officiating.
