Obituary for Cynthia Braton

Cynthia Lee "Cindy" Braton (née McIntyre) passed away on March 17, 2024, in Wheat Ridge, CO, at the age of 77. She was born on August 2, 1946, in North Canton, OH. to Coral Bennett and Howard McIntyre. She was the fourth of five children: Sandra, Susan, Sheila, and Douglas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sheila. Cindy was a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife who fought fiercely through a recurring battle with breast cancer. Her resiliency and determination allowed her to continue being a vital and active part of her family despite the difficult physical challenges she faced.

Cindy was known for her green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden, growing tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and a beautiful array of flowers. She had a talent for cooking and baking, with specialties like slumgullion and peach cobbler that her daughters will continue to cherish. Cooking alongside her sister, Susan, was a special treat for her and their friendship always helped to sustain her. Growing up surrounded by animals including chickens and a wily raccoon, she had a special connection with the family's dogs and cats. Cindy found joy in watching TV murder mysteries, reading, and expressing her creativity through art.

She is survived by her husband, Steven, daughters Amanda, Krista, Lisa (Greg) Butler,, and grandchildren Blake and Brooks, stepdaughter Mia (Paul) Braton Parke and grandchildren Dylan and Ashley along with many nieces and nephews. Cindy's sense of humor, sharp wit, and unwavering love for her family made her the heart of their home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cindy spent the majority of her career working at Target. She also had a passion for genealogy research in her free time and connecting to new stories of the past. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in June 2024 in Arvada, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations to a local food bank in her name would be appreciated.

The Rundus Funeral Home in Broomfield, CO, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
