Obituary for Darlene E Gordon
GORDON, DARLENE ELIZABETH
(nee QUINLAN)
Darlene Elizabeth Gordon, 81, our beloved mother and wild Irish Rose, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2017 from complications following a stroke. Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Chester Eugene Gordon (1932-2013) of Denver, Colorado. Born on June 8, 1935 to Cleo Mae and Patrick Richard Quinlan, Darlene spent her childhood (except for a stint in Washington, DC during World War II) in Northwest Denver as the self-proclaimed fastest runner and tree-climber on the block. She attended St Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from Holy Family High School. Darlene is survived by her children, Collene Murphy (David), Kate Gordon, Edward Patrick Gordon and Chester Mark Gordon (Cindy); and grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Amanda, and Sara; and great-grandson Cole. She is survived by her sister Eileen Burrows and brother Patrick Michael Quinlan. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward Joseph Quinlan. Darlene loved the night sky, with dreams of flying far above; we will look for her among the stars.
Rosary: 10:00 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church (4380 Utica St., Denver), Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m.
