Obituary for David Jay Earles
David Jay Earles, a gregarious lover of life, dedicated father, and compassionate friend to many passed peacefully Monday evening at the age of 60. Born at Camp Pendleton, David was a Marine Brat and prankster having lived in or visited most of the United States. When not destroying irreplaceable European imported trees David could be found agitating MP’s and Marine Officers alike. The oldest boy of four children, David was often responsible for the hijinks and shenanigans that all but got his family kicked off post. David graduated from Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs. David was a gentleman of the highest degree often using his humor to ensure that everyone around him was always comfortable. Whether it be a wry smirk or his witty banter, David knew how to make those around him feel good about who they were and did so everywhere he went. David was a man of exceptional integrity who was never mean or rude to anyone and was always the first person to volunteer to help in any situation. He was an ardent fan of sports, having participated in athletics and played many sports in his youth as well as never missing one of his children’s games. Not a day had passed in David’s life in which he would’ve preferred to be anywhere other than on a Golf Course. His blood ran orange for his favorite Broncos and his nerves steely cold for the Avalanche. Additionally David enjoyed anything outdoors and could often be found camping, boating, or teaching his grandkids to waterski. David was an Insurance Agent for Farmer’s often guilty of mixing business with pleasure as he did not have a single client who wasn’t also his friend. David would spend countless hours day and night insuring peace of mind for many. David was preceded in death by his mother Nellie and survived by his father Marcie Jay Earles, his older sister Kathy, younger brothers Paul and Tracy as well as his three beloved children James, Tony and Tanya and his five grandchildren Ashley, Baylen, Chance, Gia and Anthony. Visitation for David will be held from 10am to 1pm on Saturday February 7th at the DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home (12114 Grant Circle) in Thornton Colorado, Memorial Services will begin at 1pm. A Memorial fund has been established in David's honor, please visit any US Bank to donate, it only takes a minute and his name is the account.
