Obituary for David L Sutton
David Sutton, of Thornton, Colorado, died Monday, September 14, 2015, after courageously battling cancer for fourteen years. Although cancer took his life, he died on his own terms, at home, surrounded by family. Throughout the struggle he remained a kind, loving and gentle man who never lost his sense of humor or love of family and friends. He chose to live out his days in Colorado because he loved the mountains. He was an avid outdoor adventurer and enjoyed hunting, ice hockey, fishing, sailing, skiing and golf.
David was born on February 8, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He is preceded in death by parents, Wayne and Virginia Sutton. He will be forever in the hearts of his wife Shirley, and his children; Meghan Sutton, Heather Helfer and her husband David, Matthew Sutton and his wife, Emily and step daughter, Sunday Catterall. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Mary Ann Canter and her husband Paul, Deborah Herpich and her husband Richard; his brothers Michael Sutton, Randy Sutton and his wife Debbie; nephews Daniel, Travis, and Joel Sutton, Chris Herpich and his wife Lauren.
David will be greatly missed by the grandchildren that he adored; Reagan, Mara and Jeffrey Helfer and Charlotte Rae Sutton.

Love Never Disappears
Love never disappears for death is a non-event.
I have merely retired to the room next door.
You and I are the same; what we were to each other, we still are.
Speak to me as you always have, do not use a different tone, do not be sad.
Continue to laugh at what made us laugh.
Smile and think of me.
Life means what it has always meant.
The link is not severed.
Why should I be out of your soul if I am just out of sight?
I will wait for you; I am not here, but just on the other side of this path.
You see, all is well.
