Obituary for Donald Wayne Miller
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of June 29, 2015, Donald Wayne Miller, husband of Mary Ann Miller of Denver, CO. The relatives and friends of Donald and Mrs. Miller are invited to attend the Military service of the former at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 22nd at 10:30 AM, staging Area B. The family will receive friends and family at a reception immediately following the service. Donald was born September 6, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas, a son of the late Howard and Margaret Miller. He graduated from Regis High School in Denver, CO and subsequently entered the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant before honorable discharge. Following his time in the military, he began working at the Denver Post before moving to San Bruno, CA in 1966 to work at the San Francisco Chronicle as a printing specialist and Union President for the local Union. In 1976, Don began his final career journey as founder and President of D/J Building Maintenance and Supply in Richmond; CA. Don retired in 1995 to focus on family and his passion for golf, model trains, and friendship. Don and Mary Ann returned to Denver in 2001.
Don is survived by his wife Mary Ann; two sons, Gary Miller of Denver, CO; and Dale and Allison Miller of Danville, CA; and 2 grandchildren, Danielle and Nicole Miller. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Bob) Miller of Denver, CO.
