Obituary for Elda Ehnes
Elda Mae Ehnes at 87 years old of Westminster, CO passed away October 24, 2019 peacefully at home. Elda was born September 10, 1932 in Long Prarie, MN to August and Katherine Dreher. Her two siblings include Ruben William Dreher and Vida Marie Dreher. Elda had an adventurous spirit from a young age. Elda married her husband, Luverne A. Ehnes, on April 23, 1955 in the Little Brown Church on the Vale in Nashua, IA.
Elda was a homemaker, an antique collector, a prankster, a traveler, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother and a friend. Elda would not let you go without a laugh or a bite to eat. She was a woman of many stories. As a strong believer in Jesus Christ and God, she shed her love and light beyond many lengths throughout her beautiful life. Many were touched by Elda and admire her love and cheerfulness that she shared with us all. Though Elda is going to be dearly missed, heaven gained a beautiful angel.
Elda Ehnes is survived by her two children Debra (Ronald) Houp and Gregory Ehnes, her grandchildren Ryan (Sarah) Houp, Sherri (Colton) Boxberger, Matthew (Vanessa) Ehnes and Rachel Ehnes, her great grandchildren Emily Houp, Autumn Rhine, Garrett Timme, Shelby Boxberger, Kelsey Boxberger, and Ehnes boys, her lifelong friend of 70 years Lois Brooks, sister-in-law Millie (Ruben) Dreher, and brother-in-law Leroy Ehnes. Elda was preceded in death by Luverne A. Ehnes.
The funeral service will be held at Crossroads Church (Northglenn Campus) on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10:00am led by Pastor Kim. Elda’s burial service will take place at Fort Logan Cemetery on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at noon.
Pallbearers include: Ronald Houp, Ryan Houp, Colton Boxberger, Robert Rodriguez, Matthew Lockwood, and Leonard Green.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Gregory Ehnes, Matthew Ehnes, and Steve Allen.
