Obituary for Frank David Mitchell
Thornton resident, Frank David Mitchell passed away on December 26, 2017 at the age of 93.
Frank was born in Kansas City, Kansas on November 9, 1924 to Carrie Louise (Mitchell) Hook and Faye George Smith. He proudly served in the United States Army, and in 1947 it brought him to Denver, Colorado. It was in Denver that he met and married the love of his life, Marie Edna Younger. The two were married in 1947, and shared 60 years of marriage. Together, they raised nine children.
Frank performed many jobs throughout his life, including work in the oil fields, as a truck driver, and as a mechanic for Mobile PreMix, where he retired from. His sense of humor and his ability to live life exactly how he wanted were enviable. Frank let you know exactly where you stood with him, no matter what. He cherished his family, and his family cherished him right back.
Preceding Frank in death were his parents, his wife Marie Mitchell; daughters Linda, Patty, and Carrie Grumbles; son Darrell and son Donald E. Mitchell, who passed away December 18, 2017.
Frank is survived by his children: David (Rita) Mitchell, Bobby (Shari) Mitchell, Marcia (Larry) Arnold, Dewey Mitchell, and Robert A. Mitchell; as well as 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A service celebrating both Frank and Don E.’s lives will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Christian Fellowship, 9200 Hoffman Way, Thornton, CO 80229.

A memorial service will be held for Frank and Don Mitchell on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at Legacy Christian Fellowship in Thornton. Frank's final resting place will be at Highland Cemetery, with his wife.
