Obituary for John David Meils
John David Meils, 63, husband of Cathy Hosford, passed away Saturday August 14 2021 unexpectedly at their home in Thornton CO.
He was born in Beloit , WI on 8/29/1957, son of the late Frances (Noder) and Jim Meils. John was an HVAC Tech at Accutrol a company that he had enjoyed working at for the last 6 years.
John moved to Colorado with his family in 1991 and liked the outdoors. John enjoyed fishing and gold panning with his sons , also liked exploring with his metal detector. He was quite the inventor and problem solver. We all loved his can do attitude and fixer of all our mechanical problems. He made some pretty silly contraptions. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and him and Cathy also really liked NASCAR racing.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Besides his wife Cathy, he is survived by his step mother Shan of Loveland, CO:  sisters Nancy of Frisco, TX, Susan of Anchor Point, AK, his brothers Ted and wife Peggy of Cave Creek, AZ, and James of Denver: his children Selena and husband Chris of  Josephine ,TX, David of Denver, Johnny and wife Crystal of Cape Coral, Fl, Summer and partner Mike of New Castle, CO. ; step children James of Thornton, Liz of Livingston, CA, and Brian and wife Kim of Colorado Springs: 13 grand children, and 8 nieces and nephews.
We will be celebrating Johns life on September 3rd 2021 2:00 pm at DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home located at 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, CO 80214
