Obituary for John Hubert McMurtry
John H. McMurtry went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from complications of the heart and a blood infection. He was 66 years old. John was born on June 6, 1948 to Floyd and LeDora McMurtry at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1966. John met his wife, Rita Bratner, while working as a paramedic. They were both part of the Ambulance Corp. They married in June of 1977 and purchased a home in Thornton where they raised their three sons. John worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for Metro Waste until he retired. He also enjoyed working the voting polls every November for many years. He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd McMurtry ,and brother, Nickey McMurtry. He is survived by his wife Rita McMurtry, son John Adam McMurtry (Shary), Phillip McMurtry (Lanine), Stephan McMurtry, three grandsons - Gryphon, Xander and Izack, two brothers - Danny McMurtry and Terry McMurtry, one sister - Donna Redmond and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Friday morning with Funeral Services at 11:00AM, November 28, 2014 at DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home Chapel, 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, Colorado 80241. Interment will follow at 1:00PM, Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd., Littleton, Colorado.
