Obituary for Kathleen Ann Standard
Kathleen Ann Standard was born December 16, 1948 in Moorland Iowa to Norman and Velma Bunda. She was the oldest of three children. Growing up Kathy was a fun loving, intelligent and enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends. She grew up with her younger sister and brother, Kristy and Kendal. When she was not teasing her younger brother, Kathy was often times in a bikini driving the tractor on the family farm. In 1969 Kathy was married and moved to Colorado. Shortly after, she gave birth to her first daughter Ann. Years later, her second daughter Candice was born. Kathy was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was hardworking and driven, which led to several awards throughout her career. In her free time Kathy enjoyed playing a good game of cards and never refused a glass of wine and was also a self proclaimed chocoholic. Kathy enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. The holidays were her favorite time of year. She went out of her way to make everyone feel special. Kathy was very passionate about helping others less fortunate than her. She spent countless evenings and weekends in Denver shelters serving the homeless. She was a dedicated Christian, very active in her church. She was an active member of LWML and other church groups, volunteering her time to people through the church. Kathy passed away in her home Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Westminster, Colorado. She is survived by her sister, Kristy Carlson; Brother, Kendal Bunda, her two daughters Ann and Candice, their spouses Chris and Clayton and her four grandsons Riley, Cole, Corey and Noah. Funeral Service will be 2:00PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Risen Savior Lutheran church, 3031 West 144th Avenue, Broomfield, CO 80023. Interment will be in the Broomfield Commons Cemetery.
