Kathryn Ferne Keck (Ferne), 91, of Thornton, Colorado went to be with the Lord on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3, 2016.
Ferne was born in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1924, daughter of the late Myrtle (Newill) and Charles W. Dillon. She married David Keck July 1, 1945 in services held at Jumonville, Pennsylvania.
Ferne leaves behind her daughter Karen of Thornton, Colorado, her son David and his wife Marjorie of Katy, Texas, and 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren all of whom loved her dearly.
Ferne was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from The Pennsylvania State University majoring in Home Economics and was a member of Phi Mu sorority.
Most of Ferne’s life was spent raising her family, traveling, cooking and gardening. The beautiful orchids she raised showcased her love of flowers. No matter what time of year, there was always a window in her house full of blooming orchids. She will be greatly missed by her family, the friends she made over the years and all those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and committal will be at Westmoreland County Memorial Park where she will be interned next to her husband David
