Obituary for Ludwig Bauer
Ludwig “Lou” Bauer was born to Ludwig and Rosa Bauer on June 3, 1928 in Innsbruck, Austria. Lou had an adventurous spirit and lived in many places throughout Europe and the United States. He met his wife, Renee, of 55 years in Switzerland and moved his family to New Jersey in 1963, where he then became a U.S. citizen.
Lou was best known for his keen sense of humor, kind heart, entertaining stories and love of language. He spoke German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Most of his career was spent in the restaurant business. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Colorado in 1994 to be close to his children and near mountains, which he skied until the age of 76,.. and he skied as a man born in the Alps with more than 9 lives.
Lou passed on January 10th, 2016 at age 87. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth.   He is survived by his loving wife Renee, his son Steve, daughter Karen, grandson Christian, his siblings Rose Marie Blanc Bauer, Paula Tost, Gretel Windauer, Hans and Helen and many nieces and nephews. We will miss him dearly.

                  


Ludwig "Lou" Bauer est né de Ludwig et Rosa Bauer, le 3 Juin 1928 à Innsbruck, en Autriche. Lou avait un esprit d'aventure et a vécu dans de nombreux endroits en Europe et aux États-Unis. Il a rencontré sa femme, Renée, en Suisse et a déménagé sa famille à New Jersey en 1963, où il est ensuite devenu un citoyen américain.
Lou était surtout connu pour son sens de l'humour, bon cœur, histoires divertissantes et l'amour des langues. Il parlait allemand, anglais, français, espagnol et portugais. La plupart de sa carrière ont été dépensés dans le secteur de la restauration. Après sa retraite, lui et sa femme ont déménagé au Colorado en 1994 pour être près de ses enfants et à proximité des montagnes, dont il a skié jusqu'à ce que l'âge de 79 ans;  il a skié comme un homme né dans les Alpes avec plus de 9 vies. 
Lou a passé le 10 Janvier, 2016 au 87 ans. Il a été précédé dans la mort par sa soeur Elizabeth.  Il est survécu par son épouse Renée, son fils Steve, sa fille Karen, petit-fils Christian, ses frères et sœurs Rosemarie Blanc Bauer, Paula Tost Bauer, Gretal, Hans et Helen et plusieurs nièces et neveux. Il nous manquera énormément.
