Obituary for Manfred Rieser
Manfred Rieser, 77, of Arvada, passed away on February 18th, 2013. He was born to the late Eugen and Elise Rieser, October 26, 1935 in Obereisesheim, Germany. In 1957 he immigrated to the United States, where he joined the United States Army. On July 25, 1959 he married Brigitte Schumm of Heilbronn, Germany, in Nyack, New York and two days later was stationed in Regensburg, Germany for two years. Manfred was an interior decorator by trade but after losing his job building and painting houses, he decided to look for manufacturing work. He was hired by Jeffco Manufacturing, which was later bought by Ball Metal Containers and worked as an R&D Supervisor for 38 years. Manfred loved to golf, fish, and take drives in the mountains. He was an avid soccer player and heavily involved in the Denver Kickers Sports Club for over 40 years. He was a very hard working man and made sure his family was always taken care of. He was a natural “handy man” and could fix anything. He will be missed dearly and will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Brigitte Rieser, daughters: Michelle Hepting (Richard Wetmore), Rene Rieser Mines (Jayson), and grandsons Brandon Hepting, Tyler Hepting, and Cameron Mines, all of Arvada, CO. He is also survived by sisters Helga Stremel, of Hayes, KS, Ursel Muth of Obereisesheim, Germany, and nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00am at the Heritage Community Bible Church, 5615 W. 64th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003. Reception to follow at the Denver Kickers Sports Club, 16776 West 50th Avenue Golden, 80403. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Heritage Community Bible Church or Colorado Greyhound Adoption, P.O. Box 2404 Littleton, CO 80161.
