Obituary for Michael James Hughes
Michael passed away at his home unexpectedly Saturday. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Jimmy and Bernice Hughes. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Sioux City High School in 1975. Michael came to the Denver area in 2011. He was a Crane Operator and belonged to the Operators Union Local 234. Michael was very involved in Masonry and the Shrine. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a Past Master of North Riverside Masonic Lodge #662 in Sioux City and a member of the Abu Berkr Shrine. Michael is survived by his mother Bernice, brother J. D. (Jeanette) Hughes and nephews David and Tony Hughes all of Denver. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday from 4-8 PM, January 3, 2015, at The Hilton Garden Inn, 1132 Larsen Park Rd., Sioux City, Iowa. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Sioux City Masonic Lodge #662 or the Sioux City Consistory in Michael’s honor.
