Michael Wayne Compton was born February 3, 1956 in Southgate, California and died December 22, 2011 in Lafayette, Colorado. Michael is survived by His wife of 26 years, Katherine; children Heather, Julie, Christopher and Joseph; parents Wayne sister Laura; grandchildren Courtney, Destiny, and Shania, and great grandchildren Totyana, Serenity, and Cyreeana. Mike was a loving and supportive husband as well as a devoted father and an amazing friend. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a ready smile for everyone. He always encouraged his family to live to their full potential and follow their dreams. He tried to teach them never to give up on themselves. Mike had a wonderful extended family of friends who he adopted and who adopted him as Dad, Uncle, and Grandpa. He stepped into their lives and encouraged them with his wisdom, support, & love and he was blessed with their love in return. Family was everything to Mike and everyone was family to him. Mike had a generous heart and made time for anyone who needed him whether he knew them or not whether they were near or far. There are no words to describe who Michael was. He had a special relationship with each and everyone in his life, and those relationships that were lost cut him deeply. Michael Compton was a shining light in this world and in his loss will leave a hole the lives of those who loved him. Michael you will be missed deeply. Services will be held at 2 pm on December 29, 2011 at Southeast Christian Church, 9650 Jordan Road in Parker, 80134. Michael will be interred privately at Highlands Cemetery in Thornton.
