Obituary for Rebecca Lynn Riggle
Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Naegele Riggle passed away peacefully May 21, 2015. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Naegele (Debbie) and father-in-law Charles Michael Riggle (Carol). She is survived by husband, Frank; two children, Jesse and Lindsay (Matthew); grandson, Malcom; parents, Ross and Lois Naegele; and siblings, David Naegele, Diane Naegele (Denise), and Jan Campbell (Steve). Becky was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, big sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed by many. Becky was a fun, up-beat, welcoming person who genuinely took an interest in others. She greatly enjoyed outings and get-togethers with family and friends – she was always game for lunch out and an afternoon spent in discussion. She loved to spend the afternoon with her grandson, explore Colorado and beyond with her husband, discuss books and movies with her son, and enjoy hobbies with her daughter. She took pleasure in a number of activities including reading, gardening, pets, travel, movies, playing the piano, and baking pies. Over the years she was involved in a number of groups with shared interests in which many friendships were formed – Punchinello Players, the Dorothy Dunnett Society (DDS), horseback riding, book clubs, rubber-stamping groups, and volunteer organizations. Through her participation in DDS activities and other travel she developed many long lasting international friendships. Her friends described her as smart, creative, forthright, full of wonder, warm, encouraging, and funny. Becky had a keen mind and nurturing heart – in her professional life as a teacher, tutor, and university researcher she loved helping people learn, and to understand and explore science. Becky lived her life how she wanted, with few regrets. Her greatest sadness was to be leaving all the amazing people in her life. Becky’s family invites all family and friends to attend one of two memorial services honoring and celebrating her life: Colorado Services to be held Saturday May 30th, 2015 at 2:00pm at the DeWitt and Tabler Chapel, 12114 Grant Street, Thornton CO 80241, with open house reception to follow at the home of Frank Riggle. Minnesota Services to be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 11:00am at Nativity Lutheran Church, 3312 Silver Lake Road, Saint Anthony Village, MN 55418. A luncheon will be served after the service. Becky was always generous of her time, devoting many hours to various volunteer activities including Big Brother-Big Sisters, the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, Adams County Pet Shelter, Colorado Master Gardeners Program, and the Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue. Given her generous nature, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations (or volunteer time) be made to a charity near and dear to your heart in her honor. Nothing Gold Can Stay Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day Nothing gold can stay. ~ Robert Frost
