Obituary for Retha Marie Howard
Retha Marie Howell was born on January 31, 1929 in Cordell, Ok. She lived in Oklahoma during the great depression with no electricity or plumbing on an Indian lease farm until she left home at age 18 to attend McPherson College. There she met Keith Howard from Nebraska and 'discovered a love from which she would never recover.' They were wed in a little country church on Aug 29, 1948. Retha thanked God for a loving relationship with her parents who preceded her in death, her fun loving brother, Harold, who preceded her in death in Aug of 2002, and a great marriage partner for 42 years who preceded her in death on Sept 11, 1990. She was blessed with 3 children Larry (Sara) Howard, Vickie (Jim) Moore, and Cheryl (Neil) Bertholf, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She enriched each of our lives with her love and support and will be missed by us all. Visitation 5-7 PM, Thursday, Dewitt and Tabler Funeral Home, 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, Colorado. Funeral Services 11 AM Friday, Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr Street, Arvada, Colorado.
