Obituary for Richard Howard Lee
Richard Howard Lee (1953-2016) 62, Frederick Colorado passed away Monday April 11 from a heart attack. He was born on July 13, 1953 in Long Beach, California to Paul and Dovetta Lee. He is survived by his mother Dovetta Lee, wife Zandra, a son Shane Lee, daughters Tawny Carey, Tania Lewis, his sister and brother Renee Dean, Wayne Burleson and three granddaughters Shea Lee, Icesis Elfter and Ireland Carey.
Being the son of a Navy serviceman they moved to multiple cities until they resided in Cypress, CA where Richard graduated from Wester High School. There on graduation day he met his wife of 41 years. After moving to Colorado in 1980 Richard worked for the City of Thornton, The City of Longmont, DirectTV and successfully opened a business with his daughter Tawny, called Platinum Hair Studio in Thornton. Alongside his diligent career Richard was the sportsmen of them all. He coached football and soccer, he loved to hunt, fish, gold prospect and lived to serve the Lord. Richard was a proud Christian, Decon and Sunday school teacher at Prairie Community Church in Frederick. Richard was a loving husband, devoted father, and loyal friend. He loved studying theology and had a gift for evangelism. He was bold about his faith and speaking his mind. One of his favorite verse and of course one well known is John 3:16 he would say, referring to the Bible “That’s it in a nutshell”.
An informal public viewing will be held from 2-4 on Friday April 15, 2016 at Dewitt and Tabler Funeral Home, 12114 Grant Circle in Thornton, CO 80241. A Celebration of life will be immediately following 4:30 at 9017 Eldorado Ave, Frederick, CO 80504. The family ask to send condolences to the address above.
