Obituary for Richard Leroy Baker
Richard Leroy Baker passed away May 6, 2016 in home hospice surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1945, to Frank & Dorothy (Cox) Baker in Denver, CO. He married Linda (Krzysiak) Baker July 7, 1964. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 22, 1967, to October 30, 1969, when he was honorably discharged. He served on the Denver Police Department from November 1, 1971 to November 2, 1996. He was a volunteer firefighter and World War II buff. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Linda; children Rick (Brenda) Baker and Lisa (Robert) Gomez; Grandchildren Casey Gomez, Kayla (Justin) Hunt, Brock ( fiancé-Lauren Hartzler) Baker and Beau Baker; Great-Grandchildren Connor Gomez and Aiden Hunt, Siblings Sharon (Paul) Timmons, Mike Baker, and Patricia (Larry) Tindall; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews & numerous other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy & Frank; in-laws Thelma & Jake Krzysiak, brother Gary Baker, nephews John Marshall and Steven Marshall.

Visitation will be from 6PM until 8PM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Dewitt & Tabler Funeral Home 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, Colorado 80241. Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday May 12, 2016 at St. Marks Parish, 3141 West 96th Avenue, Westminster, Colorado 80031. A Reception will immediately follow funeral services at the church. Interment will be at 2PM in Highland Cemetery, 104th Avenue & I 25, Thornton, Colorado 80233.
