Pastors Brian Wiesinger and Janette Mikatich will officiate. Rodney DuWayne Speed was born on Nov. 29, 1949, in Brainerd, MN, to Earl and Ruth (Johnson) Speed. He was reared and educated in Brainerd. He graduated from high school in 1968. After graduation, he attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis and Trinity Bible College in Jamestown, ND. He married Audrey C. Sinness on June 5, 1971, in Cando, ND. He was an ordained pastor of the Assembly of God church, and they served churches in Montana, North Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. In 1997 they moved to the Denver area, where he worked in construction, eventually starting his own home repair and remodeling business (Rod’s Home Repairs), which he ran until his death. Rod enjoyed dabbling in the stock market. He spent many hours on his own home improvement projects, and he helped neighbors and family members with advice and work on their projects. He loved to write and had three internet blogs, where he offered his views on many subjects. He loved the outdoors and hiked and fished in the mountains whenever he could. He was a Starbucks aficionado and enjoyed coffee with his wife and friends wherever they were. A big joy in his life was his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, three daughters - Rana (Orville) Woodhull, Belding, MI; Amy (Nik) Kesic, Centennial, CO; and Sonia Sell, Wausau, WI; and six grandchildren - Victoria and Lane Duell; Amber, Julia and Cade Kesic; and Archie Sell. He also is survived by his step-grandchildren, Keelhan and Blyde Kesic, three brothers - David (Lynne), Curtis (Lorie) and Harold and one sister, Tammra (Michael) Cervone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father- and mother in-law, Oscar & Viola Sinness, and two brothers-in-law, David and LeRoy Sinness.
