Obituary for Rodney Gene Meyers
Age 79, Rodney was born January 26, 1934 in Belvidere, Illinois to Albert and Florence Meyers. He moved to Colorado at the age of two. He went to school in Denver to the 8th grade. Following his schooling he worked for the Rocky Mountain News. Rodney served his country as he entered the Army in 1955 as a Military Police Officer at Fort Carson until 1957. He worked with his Union #930 as a glazier for Colorado Glass and Metropolitan Glass for 40 years. After his retirement Rodney enjoyed tinkering in his garage, working on cars, NASCAR races, and watching The Price is Right and Judge Judy. He is Survived by his wife of 57 years Weenona, daughter Vicky Cackler, son Kenneth (Susan) Meyers, Grandchildren Jesse (Rebecca) Cackler and Amanda Meyers, great grandchildren Zoe Price and Marley Jones and sister-in-law Roberta Meyers. Rodney was preceded in death by a grandson Joshua Meyers. Till we meet Rodney again, he will be loved and missed greatly by his family and a host of friends. A special thank you to Vibra Hospital and staff and Evercare Hospice for their extraordinary care. In lieu of flowers contributions in Rodney’s honor may be given to the American Diabetes Association and Evercare Hospice. Memorial Services will be 7:00 PM Thursday July 11, 2013 at DeWitt & Tabler Funeral Chapel, 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, Colorado 80241. Inurnment Services will be 9:00 AM Friday July 12, 2013 at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area “A”.
