Obituary for Sharon Louise Velasquez
Born Sharon Louise Gallegos January 15, 1954 into the family of Arthur and Sadie Gallegos. Louise is the eldest of three children. In her youth she enjoyed spending time with her grandpa Joe and grandma Cora Escobedo at their home and traveling to California with them. Louise attended St. Joseph’s High School where she found her soul mate John Velasquez. She graduated in 1972 and found herelf madly in love with John and married him on August 4, 1973. Louise was eager to start her family as John had found a steady job working for the Union Pacific Railroad. They had their first child on August 23, 1976 and from that point Louise knew God had called her to be a full-time mother and homemaker. They were blessed again on September 19, 1977 with a second daughter. Their third child was a boy born on November 16, 1981 and they gave birth to their fourth and final child a baby girl on March 17, 1985. In the mid 1990’s as the children were all growing up and in school Louise decided to continue working with children and pursued a career working as an elementary educator at Maranatha Christian Center where her two youngest children attended. Louise enjoyed spending time with her family and playing games with her children up through their marriages and continuing to play games with them as adults. Louise spent much time pursuing her passion and hobby of quilting. Louise loves her three grandchildren and spent every moment she had with them full of love and occasional spoiling as only a grandmother can. Louise is survived by her husband John Velasquez, her parents Arthur and Sadie Gallegos, four children and their spouses Crystal (Jamie) Keefer, Jessica (Joe) Straface, Paul (Stephanie) Velasquez and Valarie Velasquez, two siblings Shelley Gallegos, Joseph (Josie) Gallegos, and three grandchildren Izzy Velasquez, Michael Straface, and Isaac Velasquez.
