Obituary for Thomas Gabler
Thomas Walton Gabler passed away on December 1st, 2025 after living a fulfilled life of 73 years. Thomas was born on January 19th, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Virginia Gabler.
Upon graduating high school, Thomas found himself a life on the road as a low-boy driver after gaining his CDL license. This career has followed and supported Thomas throughout his life, where he last worked as the operations manager for several drivers.
In his younger years, Thomas enjoyed fast cars and boats with a need for speed. Thomas’s favorite hobby was being in charge and always being right. A handyman at heart that was known to fix anything. Thomas had many passions in life, consisting of cruising and weekly date nights with his wife making the top of the list.
Thomas married his beloved wife, Rae, on June 1st, 1974 which led to a marriage worthy of a hallmark story. He was a devoted husband who embodied the ultimate vision of what a man should be for his family. Thomas had 3 children; Deanna, Victor and Thomas A, whom have all expanded their families as well. Thomas was the number one Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, brother and grandson.
A celebration of life will be held. Dates have not yet been decided by the family.
