Walter Paul Coet, 69, of Commerce City Colorado, husband of Linda Lou Coet, died Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Boulder, Colorado. He was born in Landshut, Germany on April 13, 1947 to Paul Julian Coet and Ernestine Huber Coet. Walter’s brother and best friend Ed Hans Coet, was born on April 27, 1949. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968 in the Vietnam War where he served as a Radarman third class. Upon completion of his duty in Vietnam, Walter returned home with the rank of E4. Shortly after his return from Vietnam, Walter married Linda Lou Korbitz on September 7, 1968. He continued to serve his community with a brief employment as a member of the Thornton Police Department. Walter and Linda rejoiced in the birth of their first Daughter Heidi Marie Coet in 1969 and their second daughter Denise Mercedes Coet in 1974. Walter completed Denver Automotive Diesel College in December of 1976 and worked for nine years as a motor repair Foreman. In 1990 Walter earned a Bachelor of Science at Metropolitan State College where he graduated summa cum laude with a GPA of 3.97. He was the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards for his excellence in academic education, including the Colorado Scholars Scholarship, John E. Walter began a successful career in as a drug and alcohol and domestic violence counselor including a partnership at Clear Lake Counseling Services in Northglenn, Colorado until he retired in 1990. In Walter’s new found free time he realized he had a great talent of capturing life on his camera. He perfected the art of photography and enjoyed sharing his gift with his family. The birth of his grandchildren Madelyne Avery Keenan on January 30, 2004 and his grandson Zachary Evan Keenan on June 14, 2007, fueled his love for photography. They just might have been the most photographed children in Colorado. In fact, he won second prize for a photograph of his granddaughter, Madelyne, in PC Magazine in 2008. Walter was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Paul and Ernestine Coet, daughter, Heidi Coet, and niece, Tara Coet-Felmly. Walter is survived by his wife, Linda Coet, daughter Denise Keenan, brother and sister-in-law, Ed Coet and Yvonne Coet, half brother and sister, John Paxton and Judy Gallagher, and his grandchildren Madelyne Keenan and Zachary Keenan. He will be missed and loved until we all meet again in the presence of our Lord.
