Obituary for WIlbert " Bert " Hendren
Bert Hendren, 77, of Denver, CO, died peacefully while sleeping at his home on August 27, 2015.
Bert was born on September 7, 1937 in Albuquerque, NM. He joined the Marines at the age of 17 and married his wife of 56 years, Rose Lee Austin on April 4, 1959. He made numerous friends while in the Marines and riding broncs and bulls in rodeos. He always loved his time coaching and umpiring little league baseball. He found a great deal of passion in archery where he taught many people, young and old alike and made a multitude of friends he considered family. His favorite hobby was leatherwork where he created many special and custom items.
Bert was very proud of his large and loving family. He is survived by his wife Rose Lee, son Keith Hendren and wife Corina, Kenneth Hendren and wife Kimberly Spainhower, his daughter Kimberlynn Hendren and husband William Drexler. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, including Mylene, Derrick, Kendra, Justin, Joseph, Christopher, Kurtis, Jordan, Adysen, Ava, Tyler, Austin, Payton, and Dayne. He was very proud of his four great grandchildren.
Bert was also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Hendren, Rita Feigl, his brother Vincent Hendren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bert was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, and a friend to all.
Bert was preceded in death by his son Karl Hendren. He is also preceded in death by his sister Katherine Schmucker, and his brothers Philip and Lucian Hendren.
Bert grew up on the Hendren Ranch in Montoya, NM. He cherished many fond childhood memories there. Upon Bert’s request, his ashes will be scattered at the ranch on Saturday September 5th, 2015.

Visitation will be from 5 - 7 P.M Followed by a Rosary at 7 P.M Tuesday September 1, 2015 at DeWitt & Tabler Funeral Home
