William “Dale” McKenzie
Dale McKenzie age 55 of Thornton, CO passed away October 4, 2016 with this loving family by his side.
Dale was born October 17, 1960 to Dale Eugene and Maxine Marie (Baker) Chambers in Memphis, TN. At the age of 3 Dale’s father passed away unexpectedly. Then at the age of 6 his mother married Roy Dale McKenzie who adopted him and his younger brother Greg and raised them as his own.
He owned and operated Mac Tile Services for over 20 years. He was one of the best tile setters in the Denver Metro Area. He was always doing custom homes and was very talented. His work often made the front cover of 5280 magazine. He was an extraordinary artist.
He spent his childhood in Grand Junction and Arvada, CO. He graduated from Arvada High School and attended Michigan State for 2 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, four wheeling and his boat. He loved anything to do with the great outdoors.
His family was everything to him. He was a devout father and always put his family first. Surviving family members include his wife, Robin, children Joseph (Cortney), Michael, Jessica (Lance) and his Grandmother Hazel. He is also survived by three grandsons Isaiah Vernon, Carson Dale and Jackson William along with cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Maxine, his brother Greg, Grandmother Marie and his Grandfather Bill Chambers.
A memorial service is scheduled for Dale at 10:30am on Monday, October 10th at DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home, 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, CO 80241.
