Obituary for Frank J Vlasak
Frank Joseph Vlasak, 73 of Westminster
Born January 12, 1943 in Prague, Czech Republic, December 15, 2016

Frank passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his home of 40 years in Westminster, CO. Frank passed away from cardiac arrest with complications during his recovery from knee surgery.
Frank and his wife Kveta moved to the US in 1969 to flee communism in the Czech Republic. They lived in Cleveland, OH for four years and throughout that time, they traveled all over the US including Mexico. They decided to relocate to Colorado and have lived in their home since 1976.
Frank worked for the Boilermaker Union all over Colorado on power plants and refineries. When he retired he became a tennis official for the CTUA and enjoyed many years of officiating at tournaments especially the junior tournaments and his daughters Northern Colorado Junior Open in Greeley.
Frank enjoyed playing tennis and soccer. He liked watching tennis, soccer and anything sports related.  He was always watching sports whether it was on tv or live. Frank enjoyed playing tennis and spending several hours at the park playing tennis or hitting against the wall. He enjoyed his group of friends that he had know for over 30 years: George Quiroga, Tony Delacruz, Joe Berg, Jim Bruneti, Frank Adams and many many more. He always enjoyed spending time after tennis drinking some beers with his buddies at Berkley Park.
Frank was a kind man and worked hard. He enjoyed building the family cabin with his wife. Frank spent countless hours teaching his daughter tennis and continued that quest with his only grandson who he loved more than anything. He watched Keanan while he was a baby and taught him many life lessons. He also taught Keanan tennis, hockey, soccer, rollerblading and riding a bike. He and Keanan were best buddies and often shared their love for oreos and constant laughter. Keanan was very special to Frank and they also had their own language where they often called each other Franto.

Frank is survived by his wife Kveta Vlasak, daughter Brenda Gallegos (husband Joaquin Gallegos), grandson Keanan Gallegos and Mother in-law Kveta Babakova (living in Czech Republic).

We will have a celebration of life for Frank at Papa J's Restaurant January 8, 2017 from 4-6. A small presentation will be held at 4:30.
