Obituary for Kaye White

Kaye was a loving aunt, sister and a good friend to all. Especially animals; her heart was in making the world a better place for the environment, people, and most of all animals. She attended college at the University of California in Berkeley studying computer programming, returning to Colorado in her 20’s. She worked for the US Post Office for nearly 30 years.

Kaye loved animals. She gave generously to many animal protection organizations, and always wanted to see a world in which animals were treated with compassion and kindness. She was also very concerned with the environment and a member of the Arbor Day Association. Kaye loved the beach, hot weather, and was happiest near a pool or on the beach.

Kaye Lee White (nee Detlefsen) was born in Riverton, Wyoming on June 15 of 1962 to mother Mary Anne and father Folmer Dean Detlefsen. Her father Folmer passed away early in her life. Her mother remarried to Samuel Dewey Holden, who gladly became a father to both her and her brother Jay. Kaye passed away at the age of 61 at her home in Thornton, Colorado on January 3, 2024. She was proceeded by her mother, Mary Anne Holden (nee Hrouda), father Folmer Dean Detlefsen and step father Samuel Dewey Holden. She leaves behind a brother, Jay Dean Detlefsen, a niece, Amanda Elaine Detlefsen and many friends.
