Obituary for Ruth Evans Sanborn
Ruth Evans Sanborn entered into eternal peace with the Lord on May 17th, 2012, at the age of 81 after a long battle with cancer. A native of Cushing, Oklahoma, Ruth grew up on the farm surrounded by her family, and developed a deep love for animals. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1948, where she received numerous honors and awards. After graduation, she spent the majority of her professional career as a paralegal. After marrying her soul mate, Rodger Sanborn, Ruth spent many happy years traveling the country with her husband and their daughter. The family finally settled on a beautiful ranch just south of Castle Rock, Colorado. The later part of Ruth’s life was spent growing in her faith, loving her family, and proudly working as a greeter for Walmart. Ruth is predeceased by her spouse, Rodger Sanborn, her parents, Earl Melvin Evans and Lorena Morgan Johnston, her brothers, Jerry Wayne and George “Bud” Evans, and her nephew, Jerry A. Evans. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kim Brietske, son-in-law, Bob Brietske, granddaughter, Erin Brietske, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her nephew, Larry Evans of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, several wonderful cousins and other family throughout Texas, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, and her grand-dogs, Aspen and Kali. A memorial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 9th, 2012, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 7400 Tudor Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80919, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Saint John, 1320 Everett Court, Lakewood, Colorado, 80215
