Obituary for Dorothy Winifred Korn
Dorothy Winifred Korn was born on November 10, 1929 in Rochester, New York and passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Northglenn, Colorado after a long fight with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (COPD) She is survived by her sisters Mary Chaffer and Kathy Wagner of New York, son Bob Korn and wife Laurie of Thornton, Co., daughter Joanne Taylor of Aurora, Co., grandchildren Shannon Korn and Jason Korn of Thornton, Co. and Dawn Stein along with 8 great grandchildren. Mom had many interesting jobs during her long working career and had employers such as JC Penny's, The Rochester Post Office, The Democrat and Chronicle Newspaper and The Rochester Police Department to name a few. She was also employed in the Home Healthcare industry which started in New York and finally finished in the Denver, Colorado area. Mom's home healthcare career found her as a provider for many elderly people who quickly became family. She provided great care along with love and tenderness for her special people and when she found herself in need of assistance herself, she was blessed with great caregivers at Sunny Slope Assisted Living where she resided until the good Lord called her home. Mom touched many lives in her 82 years on this earth and her sharp wit and love of life will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, Co. on Friday, September 28th at 6:00pm.
