Obituary for Elizabeth Lee Moore
Betty lived a long, full, and active life. Although born in Seattle Washington, Betty grew up in Long Beach California, and called that home. She married George Newton Moore on November 18th 1939, George passed away in February of 1987. Betty was with George, who was in the US Navy during the attack on Pearl Harbor. During George’s twenty year Navy career Betty moved all around the county to numerous duty stations. During the Navy years Betty was active in the Navy Wives’ Club. Betty and George had four children; three daughters and a son. In 1966 Betty and George moved to Colorado where they remained. Betty loved to bowl and belonged to a number of leagues with George. Betty was a member of the Next Step Christian Church in Thornton.
In addition to an adoring husband, Betty had four children; Linda, Darlene, Janice, and Wayne. Betty also had many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty’s memorial service will be held on July 15th beginning at 11am at the Next Step Christian Church, 12156 Grant Circle, Thornton, CO 80241. Viewing will begin at 10am. Following the memorial service in Thornton a burial service for Betty will be held at the Fort Logan National cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236 Staging Area B at 2:30pm, where she will rejoin her husband, George.
