Mario Accardi, 88

Mario Accardi was born on December 17, 1930, in Orange, New Jersey, to Nicholas and Fanny (Scioscia) Accardi. He died peacefully on August 7, 2019, in Aurora, Colorado.

Mario served in the United States Army during the Korean War; partnered with family in the Accardi Brothers trash company; and then found his true calling as a Master Handyman. He loved Italian music, radio controlled airplanes, card games, bingo, dominoes, puzzles, socializing and was always tinkering.

Mario was a man of faith, and believed in God and strong love of family. He was deeply loved and very well thought of throughout his life. He loved to help others and will be missed by many, leaving behind a multitude of memories.

The oldest of four children, Mario is survived by: brother Bill Accardi and his wife Rosemary, Toms River, NJ; sister Rosemarie Pecci (Vincent), predeceased by husband William, E. Hanover, NJ; and sister Anna Spring, predeceased by husband Ed, E. Hanover, NJ.

Mario is survived by his wife Mary; preceded in death by his second wife Lynda; and is survived by his first wife Lois “Bubbles” (husband Lue Martell) and their five children and loving spouses: Marianne and Norm Larchick; Nick and Swee Accardi; Tom and Tami Accardi; Nancy and Ray Lewis; and Paul and Trish Accardi; three step-children; 16 grandchildren and their families, including 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and many dear friends.

Mario loved to reminisce and laugh with everyone and that is how he would want to be remembered.

In celebration of Mario's life, services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 13670 E. 13th Place, Aurora, CO 80011; with Rosary at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
