Obituary for Suzanne Drexler
Suzanne Drexler, 79, of Arvada, CO, died peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on January 13, 2016.
Suzanne was born November 1st, 1936, in Leavenworth, Kansas to Robert and Rosemary Sackett. She lived in 14 states before her family settled in Denver in 1954. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1954 at the age of 17. She immediately went to work for the Department of Defense retiring as a Management Analyst at the Air Reserve Personnel Center at Lowry Air Force Base after 40 years of service. In 1968 she married Harold Drexler and in 1969 gave birth to twins Amy and Bill. They built their home in Coal Creek Canyon. In January 1975, her husband died and she raised her two children there until 1984 when she moved to Arvada, CO.
In 2000, she came out of retirement and went to work at Regis University.
That same year, she married James Trefethen.
In 2013, she retired from Regis.
She made numerous lifelong friends throughout her life and was loved by all who knew her. The loves of her life were her grandchildren Katie and Logan. She loved spending time outdoors and especially the mountains. Her passion was animals of all walks of life. She donated to many wildlife and animal shelters.
She loved the Denver Broncos and watching football on TV, music and especially going to the movies.
Suzanne was a true inspiration and touched all who knew her. She embraced love, faith and laughter.
Sue is survived by her husband James Trefethen, her children Amy Graybill and her husband Shawn, her son William Drexler and his wife Kimberlynn Hendren, her sister Sharon Burn, her beloved grandchildren, Katherine Graybill and Logan Graybill, Justin Hendren, Joey Hendren and Christopher Hendren.
Sue was also survived by her nephews and nieces, Steve Burn of Ft. Collins, CO, Angie (Sackett) Hafez of AZ, Rob Sackett of TX, Gina (Sackett) Bundy of OR, Carey Sackett of CA, Kelly Galbraith-Carini of TX, Michael A. Dauth of TX, and Jennifer Dauth of VA.
She was also survived by many relatives in Wisconsin, Washington, Texas and Arizona as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband Harold Drexler, parents Robert and Rosemary Sackett, and her brother Gary Sackett.
